About Us

Our Mission

We believe that neither time nor money should create a barrier between people with disabilities and service dogs. We seek to provide financial assistance to the disabled individual acquiring a service dog through an Independent organization. We support the disabled community by raising awareness about disabilities and service dogs, providing resources, and advocating for the disabled community.

Welcome to PawsforMobility.org. We hope that you find useful information, resources and support there. PawsforMobility.org is a growing resource for people with disabilities and service dogs. We’re currently in the process of obtaining our 501(c)3 status. We’re exciting about our future and the services we will be able to provide.  Please look through our website. Feel feel free to make comments and suggestions. If there is something you don’t see here that you would like to see, let us know. We’re constantly growing and changing to meet the needs of people with disabilities and service dogs.

PawsforMobility.org started as a fundraiser for Eve and her service dog Molly. We weren’t called PawsforMobility.org at first. We had various names for our fundraisers but the idea for PawsforMobilily.org developed slowly as we walked (and are still walking)  with Eve and Molly through their fundraising journey. Through our fundraising process we learned about the struggles people with disabilities have in their day-to-day lives. We learned about the ways a disabled person can acquire a service dog. Most people spend either years on a waiting list or tens of thousands of dollars to acquire a service dog. Everyone in the service dog industry is doing the best they can to provide quality service dogs to people who need them. However, there is still a gap between the person who needs a service dog and actually being able to obtain one.

We have also learned about the ways in which the general public lacks the proper education about service dogs. We were shocked by how little business owners know about the ADA law regarding service animals. Our journey has lead us though the lions den of Ableism, judgment, and discrete discrimination. People with disabilities are judged and often people with disabilities who use a service dog are judged even more. There is an entire cross-section of people in our society who have been left behind simple because of their limitations.

The needs are simple to identify:

  • People with disabilities who want to obtain a service dog should be able to acquire their service dog with out waiting years or having to raise huge amounts of money.
  • People need educational resources about service dogs, the law, and disabilities.
  • People with disabilities need emotional, mental, spiritual, and physical support.
  • People who love people with disabilities need support and educational resources.
  • People with disabilities need an advocate

We are currently in the process of obtaining our 501(c)3 status. Because together we can change lives 4 paws at a time…
